Uganda Women’s Water Initiative (UWWI) , is a women-led organization that was founded to co-create WASH solutions with host communities with the main purpose of turning women from WASH burden bearers to WASH solutions providers through capacity building, Financial Inclusion, and community self-help initiatives.
The organization’s four thematic areas are Biointensive Farming, Environmental Protection and Conservation, Climate Smart Technologies, and Advocacy and Entrepreneurship. These programs are designed by women to alleviate problems for the most at-risk women, for whom the root causes of their day-to-day struggles are complex and cannot be solved with any single point-in-time solution.
